Kingston town centre

The civic procession leaves the Guildhall at 10.30am and goes through the Market Place to the war memorial. The short outdoor service, with the laying of wreaths, lasted until about 11.10am. A Service of Remembrance in All Saints Church followed from about 11.15am to 12pm. At about 12.15pm the contingents (regimental units, cadets, Scouts, the Royal British Legion and others) mustered around the Market Place for the march past in front of the Guildhall, finishing about 12.30pm.

No vehicles between 8am and 1pm in: High Street between Kingston Hall Road and Eden Street; the Market Place; Memorial Square on Church Street; and Union Street between Church Street and number 44. The council asked businesses to warn suppliers. (Royal Borough of Kingston)

Surbiton

The procession leaves Hollyfield Road at 10.15am and goes along Ewell Road to the war memorial in front of Surbiton Library, for a service at 10.45am. Hollyfield Road closed from 8.30am, Ewell Road between Hollyfield Road and St Mark’s Hill closed from 10am, with no vehicles let in from 9am, and all closures lifted around 12.15pm once the parade was back. (Royal Borough of Kingston)

New Malden

The procession leaves Presburg Road at 9am, crosses the Fountain Roundabout and goes along the High Street to the war memorial in front of Waitrose, for a service at 9.30am. The High Street from Blagdon Road to Dukes Avenue was fully closed from 8.30am until about 10.45am at the latest. Suppliers were told there would be no access between 7am and 11.30am. (Royal Borough of Kingston)

Chessington

A smaller act of remembrance: Royal British Legion representatives, the Mayor’s representative, local councillors and other organisations gather at the war memorial at 10.55am for the national two-minute silence. (Royal Borough of Kingston)

Parking

Temporary traffic notices came into force from 7am across every area where services were held, and all parking in the affected roads was suspended while the closures were in place. The council’s advice: move your car before 7am. More on where to park in town on our parking in Kingston page, and live closures on Kingston roadworks and travel.

Order of service

The council published printable service sheets for Kingston, Surbiton and New Malden in October last year, linked from each event page. Expect the 2026 sheets on the same pages.

What is still to be confirmed

The council’s 2026 event pages are not up yet. Last year’s sheets were uploaded in October, so we will check in mid October and update the times and closures the day they appear.
