Kingston's nearest ice rink is at Hampton Court Palace, 20 November to 3 January. Adults £19.50 off peak, children £14.50, family £59.50. Times and rules.
Kingston town centre has no ice rink this Christmas: the Kingston Christmas Market in the Ancient Market Place does not list one. The nearest rink is Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink, just over Kingston Bridge, open from Friday 20 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, closed on Christmas Day. Tickets are on sale now.

- Separate ticket: palace admission is not included, and the rink ticket does not get you into the palace.
Dates, times and sessions
The rink opens on 20 November and closes on 3 January 2027, with no skating on 25 December. The first session is at 10am and the last at 8pm, according to Historic Royal Palaces. Sessions last up to 45 minutes, and the rink asks you to arrive 30 to 40 minutes early to collect skates and use the cloakroom (plan your visit).
Quieter sessions. The palace says reduced-capacity sessions run from 10am daily, with static lighting and softer music, suited to disabled skaters and parents with young children. The rink’s own schedule also lists SEND sessions at 9am through the season. The two pages do not agree on the start time, so check the booking calendar for the session you want.

Skate hire is included in every ticket, and you can bring your own skates. Spectating is free from the viewing platform. Booking fees are not refunded if you move your session, which you can do up to 48 hours ahead (FAQs). Palace members get 10% or more off, using codes in member e-newsletters.
Rules for children
- Children under 3 cannot go on the ice.
- Under 13s must be on the ice with an adult aged 18 or over; one adult can supervise up to five children, and every child needs their own ticket.
- Skate aids cost £6, first come first served on the day, and cannot be booked. The rink’s pages disagree on the height limit: the FAQ says children up to 100cm, the visitor guide says under 140cm. Staff measure every child.
- Children need a bob skate size 6.5 or above to use bob skates.
Special sessions
The rink’s 2026 events schedule lists:
- Adult-only skates with a DJ and bar on 23 November, 30 November and 7 December, 7pm to 9pm.
- Sunday Sessions every Sunday, 6pm to 9pm.
- Skating Santa, live ice carving, DJ nights and a singles night, all with dates still to be announced.
Getting there from Kingston
Buses 111, 216, 411, 461 and 513 run from Kingston to Hampton Court. Hampton Court station, five minutes’ walk from the palace, has trains every 30 minutes from Waterloo calling at New Malden, Berrylands and Surbiton. Parking on the palace site is £1.80 an hour, card only and first come first served, with an overflow car park at Hampton Court Green (Historic Royal Palaces: getting here). The rink is cashless.
Christmas at the palace at the same time
Two palace events overlap with the rink, both included in palace admission rather than the rink ticket: Winter Palace, from 28 November to 3 January, and the Festive Fayre with more than 100 producers on 4 to 6 and 11 to 13 December.
Back in town, the Kingston Christmas Market runs from 12 November to 3 January in the Ancient Market Place. If you are driving in, see parking in Kingston and Kingston roadworks and travel.
